ARTP is composed of eligible members who are elected on the basis of providing training, development or competence management services within the railway industry. These members meet at an Annual General Meeting to elect a managing board of directors. As ARTP is a Company Limited by Guarantee, it has been established to trade only to the benefit of its members, and the liability on each member is restricted to a nominal figure.

ARTP has the following formal positions:

• Chairman and Director - elected Chairman of the Board of Directors as required by the Companies Act
  
  
• Company Secretary and Director - responsible for the legal affairs of the Association as required by the Companies Act
